18 November 2015 sees the launch of the European Union 'Energy - Transparency Centre of Knowledge' (E-TRACK) initiative. This is a massive programme of public participation in the implementation of energy policies, and the first project focuses on Radioactive Waste Management (RWM) following the legally binding requirements for transparency of the Council Directive 2011/70/EURATOM on spent fuel and radioactive waste. This means that every European country has to provide plans for the long term solution to storing radioactive waste, and the preferred option is to build geological repositories deep underground.
The E-Track process is open to a broad audience although it takes awhile to register online, anyone can sign up. I guess it helps if you have a professional, academic or NGO affiliation.
Ele Carpenter will be participating along with artist Cecile Massart.
