Ele Carpenter will give a talk about her recent research into Art and Nuclear Culture at Colab, Tolpuddle House, Bournemouth University. 19th March 12.45 - 2pm.

Colab is an integrated Practice and Theory Research Lab based at The Media School, Bournemouth University. It is run by Emerge, an interdisciplinary Experimental Media Research group. They cooperate and collaborate across the University and with other institutions in order to advance knowledge and understanding of practices associated with media and media arts. Based in The Media School, Colab is currently convened in partnership with the Visual Research Group, part of the world renown National Centre for Computer Animation.

Colab aims to bring together researchers with interests in the cultural and social impact of media practice. Whether this extends critical engagement with social forms of practice or relates to the expanded field of contemporary art, their aim is to investigate how creative media practice can be used to interrogate professional concerns of practitioners, lead theoretical developments and engage a broad academic research community. Developing and shaping new methods of practice as research, they welcome partnerships with cultural institutions, creative agencies and research organisations.
